Citizens Police Academy

Graduates

Our Citizen Police Academy is designed to acquaint the public with the operations of the Hudson Police Department. Residents attend weekly classes taught by Law Enforcement professionals in different aspects of police work. Upon the completion of the Academy, participants have a better understanding of the law enforcement role in the criminal justice system and have some insight into the many challenges that face law enforcement in today's complex society.

The first Hudson Citizen Police Academy (C.P.A.) was launched February 1996 and the response from our participants was great! The purpose of a citizen academy is not to train Hudson residents to be police officers but to enable them to recognize quality police work. We hope participants will obtain a sense of how we serve them and the community, and how the citizens might help us to serve them more effectively.
